Chums - 1895

Chums was a delightful magazine for boys, originally published by Cassell's. It began in 1892 and endured in one form or another until 1941. It featured stories by classic authors - this volume, which I came across at a British thrift shop, included Treasure Island - along with a notice of the death of Robert Louis Stevenson. Other stories featured good, clean-cut boys doing various adventuresome things. Articles covered topics thought to be of interest to boys, from trains and steamships to military regiments.
