International Embroidery Techniques

Home > Victorian Arts, Crafts & Needlework > Embroidery > International Embroidery Techniques

In the mid-1890's, a series of articles on international embroidery patterns and techniques appeared in The Girl's Own Paper and Cassell's Family Magazine. Often, the same article or a very similar piece appeared in each magazine. One of the keys to the success of this series was the ability to include actual photos of the type of work being described. Later installments were added by Fred Miller, whose beautiful patterns can be found in many of the articles in the Victorian Crafts section.
