Victorian magazines loved "roundup" articles - features that looked at a variety of different individuals united by some common factor. Roundup articles offered magazines opportunities for a variety of illustrations, whether it was a collection of head shots or pictures of the factor that "united" the subjects of the article. In other sections, we bring you "people" roundups that are based on some common factor such as profession or interest - e.g., authors, painters, barristers. This section brings you roundup articles that are based on some commonality that brings together people of various professions or walks of life - e.g., celebrities' favorite books, or best jokes, or even silhouettes! This section offers mostly male and some "mixed" roundups; see also Eminent Women for roundup articles specifically addressing the ladies.
