|
In Victorian days, the big game hunter was a sort of super-hero. Articles proudly displayed hunters by their kills - the bigger, of course, the better. Hunters traveled to the farthest corners of the earth to hunt exotic animals (which is why there are often shortages of certain exotic animals at the farthest corners of the earth). This section looks at big game hunting in various "exotic" locations - from tigers in India to elephants in Abyssinia. Such destinations appealed to American and British big game hunters alike.
Of course, America itself was the ideal place to hunt big game, including elk, moose, bison, and many others; see the Hunting in America page for articles on game hunting in America, Canada and Mexico.
